So much better than the title would suggest. Obvious touchstones move from Syd era Floyd to early period REM but Sonny Smith's putting his own imprint all over this; almost spoken word verses into a nicely churning chorus all concentrating on the titular store. Gorgeously 'psych' guitars popping up and a middle 8/fade out that can only be described as somewhat slightly trip, all accompanied by a video that's far more of a short form, lo-budget, indie film than conventional pop accompaniment. Effortlessly cool.
Album, 'Talent Night At The Ashram' out March 25th - started as a film, went elsewhere.
